Qualitative Fit Testing (QLFT1)

PDF Print E-mail

Qualitative Fit TestingQualitative Fit Testing is probably the earliest type of Fit Testing that was developed and validated. It has some significant limitations in terms of the level of protection that can be assessed using this method, but it still has am important part to play, most especially with respect to disposable filtering face pieces (FFPs).

This one-day course is designed to follow on from the half-day introduction described above. The course will include practical training on various QLFT protocols, but will focus especially on the iso-amyl acetate and saccharin methods. By the end of the day you will be able to carry out a complete qualitative fit test and to be able to document the process (the job’s not done till the paper work’s signed off!). Because of the practical nature of this training course, places are limited to 5 persons.

Many people think that qualitative Fit Testing is the easiest type of fit testing to do, but as soon as you make any real comparison of the two methods it quickly becomes clear that it is actually the hardest to do properly, the easiest to abuse and the hardest to document. It still has an important role to play, but potential users need to consider the overall costs of QLFT vs. QNFT Fit Testing over a period of say three to five years. The result always surprises people!

Costs: £580 to a maximum of 5 delegates and using customer's Fit Testing Systems as necessary.

Book both FT1 and QLFT1 courses together to run back-to-back for up to 5 delegates at an inclusive price of £975. (Quote QLFT2)
