Public Speaking

Public speaking is quite different from other types of presentation. For one thing, nearly every search for public speaking on line is prefaced by the words "fear of"! It is not so much technique that people are looking for as some method of overcoming the fear of public speaking.

There are lots of reasons why people are asked to speak in public, but the two main ones are that:

  • You are a great person with wicked stories and a natural (or learned) skill at relating them or
  • You are the number one specialist in the field that they can afford and that despite the fact that they may risk you boring the pants off them they really have to have you!
Keep your audience motivated

There is more than one way to keep your
audience motivated - but strong drink should
only ever be regarded as a last resort!

Yes, I know that is very harsh, and not so very sympathetic either, but if you are looking for sympathy you may have come to the wrong website. For sympathy visit here, but come right back, because training and coaching can make things better for you for much longer than tea and sympathy!

There is a mass of structured, one-size-fits-all training material available for public speaking, but as it is so generic, about 90% of it is not going to be that relevant to your needs. We deliver bespoke training to very small groups (think of a number < 2!) but only after we have discussed what it is you think you need.

Public speaking - what’s to be afraid of? We can help, drop us an email via our contact page.
