Fit2Fit Fit Test Training

FIT2FIT is the new accreditation scheme developed by the British Safety Industry Federation at the joint instigation of that organization and the UK Health and Safety Executive.

TBD Presentations has been actively involved in the development of the scheme so we have been able to develop the very best training tools for those needing to become accredited. Who needs accreditation? Well anyone who wants to offer a respirator fit testing service, either as part of a corporate respiratory protection program (RPP) or commercially on a consultative basis to organisations that issue respiratory protection to their workforce.

Our training covers Qualitative as well as Quantitative fit test methodologies and we can even provide refresher training on just what your legal responsibilities are under the relevant regulations, codes of practice and HSE Guidance. TBD Presentations have been approached by BSIF to support the FIT2FIT scheme by providing accreditation testing.

If you issue tight fitting respiratory protection to your staff, then you have to be able to provide fit test results to them and to HSE and other relevant inspectors. There is no longer anywhere to hide and the HSE are keen to demonstrate that they regard respiratory protection as the last resort in an exposure control hierarchy, not the first port of call.

The Fit 2 Fit scheme goes live in September 2009 and HSE inspectors will be looking for evidence of accreditation against the requirements of the FIT2FIT scheme from that point on.
