Exhaust Emission Particle Continuous Monitoring - Yes we can!

Regulations have already been promulgated in the USA and Europe that require the installation of continuous monitors on vehicle exhaust systems to detect the level of particulate being emitted. Ultrafine, and fine particles are considered to have such an adverse impact on human health that these requirements were made mandatory even though at the time there was no sensor capable of reliably delivering monitoring with sufficient sensitivity and durability. The requirements for OBD monitoring of exhaust particulate will come into effect over the next three years.
